Description
Yeni Valide Sultan Camii, Mosque of the New Valide Sultan (Queen Mother), at the end of the Galata Bridge in the Eminonu district of Istanbul. Commissioned 1597 by Safiye, mother of Mehmed III, from the architect Davud Aga (d. 1599), pupil of Sinan. Completed 1663 under supervision of Turhan, mother of Mehmed IV, by architect Mustafa Aga.
