Library Lunch Break: Using Zotero for Research and Teaching

Thursday, October 8, 2009

12:10pm -12:50pm

Hekman Library, Room 305

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension which will help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources. The latest version has been dramatically improved, making it more user-friendly than previous versions, and a good alternative to commercially available bibliographic tools such as Endnote, Procite, or RefWorks. Through Zotero, researchers can download citation data automatically from web sites, YouTube, research databases and other sources, and then create bibliographies in Microsoft Word and OpenOffice. Zotero also helps organize data from across the web and syncs to multiple computers.

This workshop will get you started, showing how to use Zotero with Hekman Library digital resources and offering suggestions for using Zotero as a teaching and research tool. Workshop leaders are Jack Du Mez, Academic Services Writing Assistant Professor, and Lugene L. Schemper, Theological Librarian.

Come with your lunch; we will provide drinks and chips.
