Children's Literature -- H.J. Kuiper Room
Hekman Library's Children's Literature Collection is shelved in the H.J. Kuiper Reading Room on the 5th Floor. All books in this area have call numbers that begin with PZ.
The Children's Literature collection contains both children's fiction and some non-fiction. Biographies, collections of poetry, folk and fairy tales, and some science books are included. Also in the collection are most titles recognized with the ALA-sponsored Newbery, Caldecott, and Printz awards, and also for recent years, the titles on ALA's list of Notable Children's Books. Books about children's literature are shelved in the main collection. This collection is especially useful for students in elementary education.
Books from the Children's Literature collection may be borrowed for two weeks and may be renewed if there are no holds pending.
