Library of English Literature
The Library of English Literature (LEL) is a microform collection of literary works from Beowulf through the 19th century. Works of all genres are included, both primary and secondary. (Secondary materials are included if they are of undoubted importance or have become English classics). There are first editions and rare, early imprints, bibliographies, letters, critical studies, biographies and historical accounts. The collection is designed so that students can examine individual works in depth as well as the social and literary careers of the authors and the impact their works had on contemporary thought.
Specific titles can be found by searching our online catalog, (advanced search), selecting the numeric search tab and then selecting the field "call number." Key in call number prefix MIC LEL. Items can also be located using The Microbook Library of English Literature (REF Z2011 .L73).
This collection is located in the microforms area on the 2nd floor of the library. You are encouraged to ask a library staff member to help you find the collection and get set up with the proper reader/scanner for viewing.
