Off-Campus Research Assistance
Welcome to the Hekman Library!
If you are a current member of the Calvin community and are off-campus for an extended period of time, this service is for you!
What the Hekman Library Can Do for You
Our goal is to serve you as if you were on campus. In some situations, the physical distance may limit the services we can provide.
What is Available to You?
-
Research Assistance Feel free to contact a reference librarian for research assistance. There are a variety of contact options, including live "virtual" reference help. Consult the library's Research Service page for details. (Remember the time difference!)
- Hekman Library Web Site You should be able to access all electronic sources by entering your Moodle password when prompted. Seminarians, please refer to the SEMINARY section below. Let us know if you are denied access.
- Delivery of Non-Electronic Material Contact the library liaison that is associated with your off-campus program. Your librarian will facilitate the delivery of the material if it is available. Alternatively, you may request the material by using one of the services listed on the Research Services page. Our preference is to email PDF files. Please indicate if fax is a better option. Physical items can be mailed only within the United States.
Seminary
There are alternate instructions for the Calvin Theological Seminary community; contact Daryl Boersema (Seminary Technology Support Administrator, dboers88@calvinseminary.edu) or one of the library's theological librarians. See below for contact information.
Seminarians on interns doing their field education are encouraged to use local resources as part of their training experience. But in certain cases when it may be helpful and necessary to get materials from Hekman Library, please contact one of the Theological Librarians, Paul Fields or Lugene Schemper.
