Library of Congress Classification - Introduction
The materials in the Hekman Library are arranged by subject, according to the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) system. There are many different categorizing systems, but the Hekman Library, like most university libraries in the U.S., uses LCC for most of its collection. Exceptions to this is the collection of sound recordings, and Government Documents, which are arranged by SUDOC number.
