April Is...(See Our Displays)
Check out our new displays for April. We mark Sexual Assault Awarenss Month, Financial Literacy Month, and Asian American & Pacific Islander Month.
The displays, all on the 2nd floor of the library, feature books and information. For example, Calvin's Sexual Assault Prevention Team is dedicated to advocacy work to end rape, sexual assault, and harassment. It "seeks to do this by educating the Calvin community for change in attitudes and behaviors and by equipping compassionate and knowledgeable respondents."
NEXUS joins us in marking Financial Literacy Month. NEXUS provides free peer financial coaching covering a wide range of topics, from debt management to budgeting to saving and investing. It will provide a prize wheel next week during chapel break (Apr. 11-14).
Center for Intercultural Student Development (CISD) decided to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in April instead of May, since students will graduate at the end of April. We'd like to celebrate this special group of students while they are still on campus. The origin of AAPI Heritage Month dates back to 1977. The theme this year is "Advancing Leaders Through Collaboration."
