PubMed Central Gets an Update
PubMed Central (PMC) is a free, full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). It's different from PubMed, in that PubMed does not display the full text of articles. However, citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites.
What's different about PMC as of March 21? Here are some new features:
- A redesigned and reorganized homepage
- More accessible help documentation, reformatted to address key groups using PMC in different ways and to highlight the most important information first
- A similar look and feel between features in PMC and PubMed
Both PubMed and PMC are considered to be core databases for nursing and medicine.
