Celebrating National Poetry Month
Amanda Gorman is the youngest inaugural poet and the first National Youth Poet Laureate of the United States. She gained national fame when she read her own poem "The Hill We Climb" at the 2021 inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
The Poetry Foundation and Poetry Magazine offer the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowships to promising poets between the ages of 21 and 31. (Follow the link to find a list of names and bios).
To find volumes of poetry in our collection, search for the subject heading "Poetry" and add the name of your poet as author. (Example: Christian Wiman). If you're not sure which poet you want, try the subject search "Poetry Collections."
