Featuring a Hekman Library Special Collection
The Curriculum Collection is located on the library's main floor. It follows the print reference collection on the shelves. Call numbers are the same as in the rest of the library, but it's easy to quickly recognize that there's a distinctiveness about this collection, because it contains more than books. There are puppets, games, manipulatives, kits, and curricula as well. It's a K-12 hands-on collection meant to be used in a classroom setting. It's also a study collection to help education students learn what's new in their subject areas, whether history, science, art, or math.
Librarian Katherine Swart has oversight of this collection. Some new books just purchased:
- DK (Dorling Kindersley) Findout! Series: Bugs, Energy, Reptiles & Amphibians, Robots
- DK Eyewitness Series: Human Body, Reptile, Ocean, Cat
- Eye Wonder: Sharks, Space
- Everything You Need to Know About Birds
- Ocean: A Visual Encyclopedia
