The Windiest of Months Is Here
Wind farms, wind energy, wind power...All these phrases can be used to search for the subject of wind as a form of alternative energy.
Michigan has many wind farms. The Michigan Wind Farm Map shows their various locations. Those that are marked with a red warning sign have failed to materialize or are deferred. The closest to us in Grand Rapids would have been the Kenowa Wind Project near Muskegon. It was to have 31 wind turbines. It was scrapped in 2019 due to citizens' opposition.
Hekman Library has many resources on wind energy. Most are electronic books, but some are print. If you want to browse in the area where these are located, go to the 5th floor and to call number TJ163.2.
