What's New at Hekman?

Every month, two of our creative staff members, Kaitlyn Van Kampen and Amanda Matthysse, change up a display to showcase books, movies, and other media on a theme. This month it's African-American history. You'll see writers, polticians, philosophers, religious leaders and others featured. For example, in the display at the right, there are books by Zora Neale Hurston, W.E.B. Du Bois, Alice Walker, Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes. According to the Library of Congress, "Black History Month pays tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citiczanship in American society."

On the bottom shelf you can find romantic comedies (movies) for your viewing pleasure.
