Welcome (Back) to Campus!
Here are some things the library staff would like you to know in order to feel at home. Many of these tips come from our own student workers.
- The main entrance to the library, facing east, brings you to the 2nd floor, not the 1st floor. The 1st floor is CIT (Calvin Information Technology).
- The library entrance on the 3rd floor closes at 5 p.m. during the week and is not open at all during the weekends.
- Watch the library hours for changes to our hours so you're not caught off guard when you want to check something out after closing and there's no one to help you.
- We have a great collection of films for your entertainment in our Cayvan Recorded Media collection.
- There's help for your research papers at the Research Assistance Desk on the main floor.
- The Rhetoric Center, where you can get help with your writing, is just inside our main entrance.
- At the main checkout desk on 2nd floor you can get help with picking up books on hold, getting your interlibrary loan materials, finding books that your prof has put on reserve, getting answers to MeLCat questions, and much more.
- You can renew your books and other materials yourself by logging into your account, selecting the tab "Items Checked Out" and then putting a check mark by items you want to renew.
- Students check out books for two weeks (doesn't apply to seminary students) and get unlimited renewals. You can have up to 50 books out at a time!
- Peet's Coffee area is a great place to meet friends between classes or to relax and study if you don't mind a little bit of noise.
