Staff Profile: Kaitlyn Van Kampen

The library has recently welcomed a new staff member to its team of folks who keep the library running smoothly. On January 8th, Kaitlyn Van Kampen began as Hekman's new Interlibrary Loan Coordinator.

As part of Access Services, Kaitlyn supports the research of Calvin students, faculty, staff and alumni. Being the Interlibrary Loan Coordinator involves borrowing and lending materials between libraries. She obtains articles, books, book chapters, DVDs, music scores, and more from local, national, and even international libraries. Her work at the library helps expand the range of resources available to the Calvin community.

Before coming to Calvin, Kaitlyn worked at Kent District Library's Cascade Township Branch. She is currently pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science through Wayne State University's online program, having completed her undergraduate studies at Ohio State University.

Kaitlyn attended Grand Rapids Christian Schools while growing up and calls Woodlawn CRC her church home. Some fun facts: she has a dog named Luna, has traveled to various countries in Europe and Central America, and has an obsession with Harry Potter (she's been sorted into Ravenclaw but feels she is more of a Slytherin).
