In case you hadn't noticed, two of Dame Agatha Christie's novels have made it to the silver screen and are being released this fall. One is Murder on the Orient Express (Kenneth Branagh and Johnny Depp) and The Crooked House (Glenn Close and Gillian Anderson). Beyond this renewed interest in Christie are the new Poirot mysteries. Yes, Christie died in 1976. But crime writer Sophie Hannah struck a deal with publisher of estates at HarperFiction and Agatha Christie Ltd. to write two new Poirot mysteries! The Monogram Murders (2014) and Closed Casket (2016) were both SundayTimes bestsellers.

More Christie trivia: according to publisher William Morrow, And Then There Were None is the world's best-selling mystery, with more than 100 million copies sold. First published in 1939, it tells the story of 10 guests at an isolated isle who are dispatched one by one. And In the last few years, several of Christie’s classic mysteries have made USA TODAY’s list as they have been reissued in paperback with new jackets. (In some cases the e-books were sold at a low price point, as well).
