Do You Know About Visiting Patron?
Hekman Library has been a participating library in MeLCat's Visiting Patron (VP) for nearly five years. Here's how it works:
Most library users in the state have a library card issued by their home library; if that library is a MeLCat library that participates in the VP program, they will be able to check out materials at Hekman on site at no cost. The reverse is also true: patrons of the Hekman Library can check out materials at other Michigan libraries, (those that participate in VP), when you visit one of the libraries in the list. (Look at the column "participates in Visitng Patron").
To check out on site at participating libraries you need to present your Calvin ID and use your seven-digit ID number. Calvin patrons will only be able to use Visiting Patron to borrow those materials that our library loans out to others. This means that some formats may be excluded.
