Interlibrary Loan Staff to Your Rescue!
What do you do when you're working on an article for publication and you need a final document - like an obscure newspaper article for example - and Hekman Library doesn't have it? Or when you're working on an assignment and the journal article you need isn't available full text in Hekman's research databases? Maybe you're a seminary student who needs to look at a dissertation on a subject related to your doctoral work.
Here comes the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) staff to your rescue! Kaitlyn Van Kampen (pictured here) is the Interlibrary Loan Coordinator. There are students who work with Kaitlyn to fill lending and borrowing requests. Check out our ILL page and find out how to place a request as well as get your questions answered on our FAQ page.
The Chronicle of Higher Education published an article on this topic. In the article, an ILL Department Head at Louisiana State University is quoted as saying: "The work we do makes research possible. No library is going to have every single thing a researcher will need. The fact that we have access to resources not everyone can get makes us pretty important in the research process. It makes research limitless."
