WHY We Do What We Do
At a recent retreat for all library staff we focused on the why: Why do we do our work? And related to that: What motivates us? What do we feel most passionate about?
You can see the results in the wordle to the right. You may not be surprised to see "curiosity," "study," and "intellectual." Libraries are all about the pursuit of knowledge and the life of the mind. But some words that emerged besides the ones you can clearly see are growth, learning, serve, questions, and support. The library staff has a high service ethic. We are united in the common goal to help you to succeed and to support your personal and academic research pursuits.
What words do you think of when you consider the purpose and function of Hekman Library? WHY do you use the library?
