Special Collection Engages Students
Recently two education professors brought their classes to work with Librarian Lois Dye in the Curriculum Collection. This is a special collection of the Hekman Library, located in the northwest corner of the 2nd floor.
The Curriculum Collection contains materials in mixed formats that are appropriate for the K-12 classroom. Students majoring in Education find these materials very practical and useful for their assignments, as well as for internships and teacher aiding.
Some of the highlights of the collection:
- textbook series from major education publishers in multiple subject areas
- teaching tools such as magnifying glasses, tape measures, and building blocks
- historical documentaries
- picture books
- math workbooks
- games and puzzles
- flashcards
- puppets
There is a 2-week checkout period for most materials in the CC.
