Luge Schemper, one of the library's theological librarians, has created an online guide which features library resources on the Sabbath and Sabbath-keeping. He includes full-length books, book chapters, articles from journals and magazines, and research databases.

The Hekman Library has 26 books authored (or co-authored or edited) by Marva Dawn, including her two on the topic of the Sabbath: The sense of the call : a Sabbath way of life for those who serve God, the church, and the world and Keeping the Sabbath wholly : ceasing, resting, embracing, feasting.
