Your Professor Recommends Web of Knowledge
Web of Knowledge (WoK) is a massive research database containing journal articles for nearly every discipline taught at Calvin. And nearly every article is scholarly and peer reviewed. When you search WoK, you are searching more than 25,000 journals! While coverage varies depending on the database, most go back to 1979 and some go back even further.
WoK is accessed by typing web of knowledge in the Find Databases box on the library's web site. Each database identified below can be found the same way.
WoK contains several research databases: Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, BIOSIS (Biological Abstracts), Medline, Zoological Record, and several other minor databases. When you search WoK, you're automatically searching all these databases. But if you want to limit your search to a single database, click on the "down arrow" next to All Databases and select a database.
WoK has amazing features designed for the advanced researcher. These features simplify the often arduous task of literature searching. Click on the Online Training Modules link in the lower right corner for detailed explanations of these features.
Make WoK your "Go To" database for every research project!
