Shell Collection Featured in a Display
The Donnellys gathered an extensive collection of shells and skeletons of marine creatures from all over the world. The extraordinary assemblage of items represents several decades of collection (1941-1985) and contains thousands of specimens, some of which are now extinct or from places where shell collecting is no longer permitted. Donated to the Biology Department by the Donnelly children, it is currently being organized for incorporation into the department's museum and for a rotating display that will allow students and visitors to the department to enjoy the collection.
