How to Find Scholarly Articles in Fulltext

How to Find Scholarly Articles in Fulltext

The librarians at the Hekman Library are accustomed to helping students frantically looking for scholarly articles, and who need the articles ASAP!

Some recommended resources for fulltext scholarly articles:

  • JSTOR database - covers multiple disciplines, is completely full text and highly scholarly
  • ejournal collections, such as Cambridge, Springer, Wiley, and Project Muse
  • Academic OneFile contains a lot of full text, and it's easy to limit your search to peer-reviewed articles

The librarians have created a guide to help you determine what 'scholarly' and 'peer-reviewed' actually mean (they're not quite the same thing!) and how to find the content.

Sometimes you will need to use print journals. The library has a very fine collection of print journals that are not available online, either free or for a fee. Librarians can help you to determine if the journal you want is in print only and where it can be found on the shelves.
