Saying Thanks to Our Student Workers

Saying Thanks to Our Student Workers

In any given semester the library employs 40-50 student workers in all departments, from Circulation and Technical Services to Cayvan Recorded Media assistants and Research Assistance staff. Nearly 1/3rd of all the hours worked by library staff are student employee hours. Our student workers make it possible to open the library at least 91 hours each week and more than 100 hours during the exam period. They check out books, keep the books in order on the shelves, process MelCat requests, prepare new books for checkout, record and analyze statistics, and a host of other tasks. Our student employees are vital to providing excellent service to the Calvin community and to all who use the Hekman Library.

National Student Employment Week was April 10-14. We thank our student workers for their excellent work!
